Nearly made an immediate impact on The European Tour in his rookie season in 2014, losing out to Miguel Angel Jiménez in a play-off for the Open de España. Two other top tens helped him comfortably keep his card in 83rd place. Long tipped as one of the stars of the future, the 6ft 6in Belgian came through all three stages of the 2013 Qualifying School, taking the 20th card at the Final Stage. After his education at the Top Sport School Golf of the Golf Association Flanders (Belgium) where he first met his current coach Pete Cowen, he had a celebrated amateur college career in America, where he overcame the likes of US PGA Tour winner Jordan Spieth and former world amateur number one Patrick Cantlay to win the NCAA Division I Golf Championship in his sophomore year at the University of Illinois. Started playing golf at the same time as the rest of his family aged five after his parents played on holiday in South Africa. Enjoys snowboarding in his spare time.
